More iPads have arrived

We have 4 more in for a total of twelve iPads. One step closer to our target of 1 to 1 mobile.

New WIFI in the Fall
​
YB will be wired with WIFI along with all schools in the district. This means more flexibility for learning with mobile devices.
Graduation
​
The graduation ceremony will be videotaped this year and made available for families to view. More details to follow in the YB Blast.

YB Tech Wish List
- 25 iPads for grades K-2
- 35 iPads mini for grades 3-5
- Earbuds for all students for content creation projects
- ​3 headset mics for recording narration

What's Coming Up:
Technology will focus on digital storytelling for integration into arts and Common Core themes. Technology will tie into the YB Beat dance focus by emphasizing music production and creating music rhythms with apps like Garageband and multimedia research projects on famous composers and choreographers. Also performing arts will be emphasized with projects that focus on film editing and production.

A student tech committee team will be formed and this team will be responsible for filming, editing, and creating a repository of school performances and activities.
​
In anticipation of Common Core digital standards, a BYOD plan will be introduced to stakeholders to increase use of mobile technology in the classroom. A quarterly tech in-service will be offered as well as orientation for parents at back to school night.

​
Finally, a YB Tech Beat blast will feature tips and a Common Core literacy strand that can be used across grade levels in digitals stories and activities.
